The meaning of Christmas

Is more than just trees, lights, bells and gifts.................. here is a story about what Christmas really means..........

Just a week before Christmas I had a visitor. This is how it happened.
I just finished the household chores for the night and was preparing
to go to bed when I heard a noise in the front of the house. I opened the door to the front room, and to my surprise, Santa himself stepped out from behind the Christmas tree. He placed his finger over his mouth so I would not cry out. "What are you doing?" I started to ask him.
The words choked in my throat, as I saw he had tears in his eyes. His usual jolly manner was gone. Gone was the eager boisterous soul we all know. He then answered me with a simple statement, TEACH THE CHILDREN! I was puzzled: What did he mean? He anticipated my question, and with one quick movement brought forth a miniature toy bag from behind the tree.
As I stood there bewildered, Santa said, Teach the Children! Teach them the old meaning of Christmas. The meaning that a now-a-day Christmas has forgotten!
Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a FIR TREE and placed it on the mantle. Teach the Children that the pure green color of the stately fir tree remains green all year round, depicting the everlasting hope of mankind. All the needles point heavenward, making it a symbol of man's thoughts turning toward heaven.

He again reached into his bag and pulled out a brilliant STAR.
Teach the Children that the star was the heavenly sign of promises long ago. God promised a Savior for the world, and the star was the sign of fulfillment of that promise.
He then reached into the bag and pulled out a CANDLE. Teach the Children that the candle symbolizes that Christ is the light of the world, and when we see this great light we are reminded of He who displaces the darkness.

Once again he reached into his bag and then removed a WREATH and placed it on the tree. Teach the Children that the wreath symbolizes the eternal nature of love. Real love never ceases. Love is one continuous round of affection.

He then pulled out from his bag an ornament of HIMSELF. Teach the Children that Santa Claus symbolizes the generosity and good will we feel during the month of December.

He reached in again and pulled out a HOLLY LEAF. Teach the Children the holly plant represents immortality. It represents the crown of thorns worn by our Savior. The red holly berries represent blood shed by Him.

Next he pulled out a GIFT from the bag and said, "Teach the Children that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift. Teach the Children that the wise men bowed before the holy babe and presented Him with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. We should give gifts in the same spirit as the wise men."

Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a CANDY CANE and hung it on the tree. Teach the Children that the candy cane represents the shepherd's crook. The crook on the shepherd's staff helps bring back strayed sheep from the flock. The candy cane is the symbol that we are our brother's keeper.
He reached in again and pulled out an ANGEL. Teach the Children that it was the angels that heralded in the glorious news of the Savior's birth. The angels sang 'Glory to God in the highest, on earth, peace and good will.'
Suddenly I heard a soft twinkling sound, and from his bag he pulled out a BELL. Teach theChildren that as the lost sheep are found by the sound of a bell, it should bring people to the fold. The bell symbolizes guidance and return.
Santa looked at the tree and was pleased. He looked back at me and I saw the twinkle was back in his eyes. He said, "Remember, teach the Children the true meaning of Christmas, and not to put me in the center, for I am but a humble servant of the One who is, and I bow down and worship Him, our Lord, our God."

Honesty

Tad Williams once say, “We tell lies when we are afraid... afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger.”

Do you know that honesty is the foundation to everything!!! How can a friendship be there if friends are not honest, Boy-girl relationship break if secrets in between guy and girl are held inside. You may score many A++ in exam by cheating, but do you think you will have the quality? A seller or serve provider may sell a thing or provid a service with higher price but, do you feel good deep inside???

Just as Thomas Jefferson say “Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom.” Even wisdom needs honesty. Once a worker was building a shopping centre claiming that he uses the best quality of material, but less than 5 months after its done, the whole construction fall into pieces. Why? Because he did not walk the talk. What do you think about that?

Honesty, I must said is the foundation to everything. Just remember this

'A lie may take care of the present, but it has no future.'

IF SHE'S STILL WITH YOU

Just a few days ago
A friend lost her Mother
And as we all know
There will never be another.

She's one of the few things in life
That can never be replaced
She's led us down those life's paths
That can never be retraced.

Too many take their Moms for granted
And think they'll always be around
They don't know how She'll be missed
When, one day She's Heaven-bound.

Why we celebrate this special day
Only this one time a year
When everyday our Mom is special
And we should tell Her, make that clear.

So, if you are a lucky one
Whose Mom is still with you
Tell her everyday you love her
For, that's the least that you can do.

What if God will just keep on saying no to you..... Everything you ask for, the answer will be no, how will it feel? Here are some reason why God say NO TO YOU!

I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, NO.
It is not for me to take away,
but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, NO.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, NO.
Patience is a by product of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, NO.
I give you blessings;
Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, NO.
Suffering draws you apart from
worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, NO.
You must grow on your own,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things
that I might enjoy life.
God said, NO.
I will give you life,
so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said...Ahhhh,
finally you have the idea.

Silent is not always the answer

If only words can descript,
What is in this mind of my,
So many things to do,
Yet so little time.
I know that I have held back much doubt towards you,

Until one moment I let it all out,
But is too late,
As word spoken can’t be change,
I just hope that is wasn’t too hard on you,
What I said, for me I think is true.

But as time passed me by,
It opens up my eyes,
Cleaning up the doubts that I held inside,
Please forgive me as now I see the truth,
After all that I have done to you.

I believe communicating was the cause of it,
For being silent is not the answer to it,
Please be honest with me at all time,
For I’m learning to accept,
What others see is wrong on me at all the time.

Whatever that already took place, Can’t be erased,
I’m trying to move on with what I still have,
No matter what it is,
I must tell you one thing,
For you are more than an older brother and a close friend to me.
